CARBON FOOTPRINT REDUCTION
What is Carbon Footprint Reduction
A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions. The average carbon footprint for a person in the United States is 16 tons, one of the highest rates in the world. Globally, the average carbon footprint is closer to 4 tons. Carbon Footprint Reduction is the process where an organization directly reduces greenhouse gas emissions through efficiencies while carbon offset is a trade-off, where companies get credit for funding external projects that reduce emissions.
There are multiple processes to reduce carbon footprints. Still now we are executing only a handful of them but in the upcoming years we will explore more. Let us discuss on current executing processes.
Plantation Drives
Plantation is one of our major programs under the Carbon Footprint Reduction. This program covers almost 80% of the entire activity of Carbon Footprint Reduction. The plantation drives are done in various forms. The most common and widely spreaded form is School or College Plantation Programs. We have planted more than 10,000 trees under this process. Another process is Forest Habitat Enrichment. Under this program we have cover more than 200 Ha Forest land under which we have planted more than 20,000 plants inside the forest habitat. Another process is to execute proper block plantation under which we shall plant 1600 trees in 1 Ha. Still now we have planted more 10 Ha block Plantation which indicates around 16,000 Trees. Overall, we have planted more than 50,000 plants which can absorb around 50 Metric Tonne of CO2 from the nature in its total span of life.

Donate Old Cloths
Under our Long-term project, Emergency Disaster Management (EDM) we have distributed old cloths to more than 10,000 beneficiaries throughout our working time span in India. As per the records which is slightly more than 750 Kg of cloths.
Now as per the data, if a cloth lifespan becomes double it can reduce CO2 emissions by 44% Which means 1 Kg of cloth reusing can reduce 25 Kg of CO2. So, overall, we have reduced around 18 ton of CO2 from earth so far under this Old Cloth Distribution programs.

Reduce Plastic Pollution
We organize plastics waste collection drives inside the Forest lands or Ocean beaches or any other public places. As per the calculation 1 Kg of Plastic can increase the carbon footprint by 3 times. So far, we have collected more than 3 tons of plastic waste during our drives throughout India. From the plastic waste management, we help to absorb 9 tons of CO2.
