Awareness against Hunting Festival in Purba Medinipore, 2018

On the day of Falahari Kalipuja tribal peoples of local areas come and kill wild animals of local non-forest area. This hunting usually concentrated in Khirai and Haur Railways station areas. Previous year this hunting festival was very much in hype and lot of wild animals like the fishing cat, palm civet, small Indian civet, Bengal Monitor Lizard, Wild Boar, Indian Hare, various types of birds and other wild animals had been killed.

This year with the forest department we have built the network which is very efficiently convey information on live action of the hunters and this helps us a lot to reduce this hunting on the particular day of falahari kalipuja.
